Apertura is looking for versatile and technically strong Civil Engineers to support a wide range of infrastructure projects across the U.S. and LATAM markets. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, delivering high-quality technical work, and supporting project managers and senior engineers across sectors such as transportation, water/wastewater, bridges, transmission lines, industrial facilities, and site development.

Ideal candidates bring a combination of engineering fundamentals, design experience, technical rigor, and strong communication skills to work effectively in a remote, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

Depending on the project, responsibilities may include:

General Civil Engineering & Design:

Contribute to the design and development of infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, water systems, substations, site/civil works).

Perform technical analyses, feasibility studies, and site evaluations.

Prepare engineering calculations, layouts, and design documents.

Ensure all deliverables meet applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Multidisciplinary Coordination:

01

Collaborate with civil, structural, MEP, geotechnical, and environmental teams.

Coordinate design inputs and ensure consistency across disciplines.

01

CAD, Modeling & Documentation:

01

Prepare drawings, models, and plans using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other tools.

Convert drawings or legacy documents into clean CAD formats.

01

Maintain organized technical documentation and version control.

01

Quality, Compliance & Reviews:

01

Follow client standards and project specifications.

01

Support QA/QC processes and technical reviews.

01

03

Assist senior engineers with validating calculations and designs.

01

Project Support & Collaboration:

01

Coordinate with project managers on schedules and deliverables.

01

Communicate proactively about risks, missing information, or clarifications.

Support proposal inputs or scoping for new opportunities (when applicable).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required).
  • 3–15 years of experience in infrastructure design (varies by project).
  • Experience in one or more areas: Transportation (roads, bridges, highways), Water & wastewater,
  • Transmission & distribution, Industrial or chemical facilities, Site/civil development.
  • Proficiency with tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D,
  • Bentley, PLS-CADD, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering codes (AASHTO, DOT, etc.).
  • English proficiency B2 – C1. (written and verbal).

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • PE license or progress toward licensure.
  • Experience with U.S. engineering standards and DOT clients.
  • Familiarity with GIS, 3D modeling, Bentley
  • OpenRoads/OpenBridge.
  • Experience in QA/QC or leading junior engineers.
