Apertura is seeking a Civil Engineer with experience in aviation projects—either landside (site/civil, drainage, airside support areas) or building-side (terminal facilities, supporting structures) for small to mid-size airports.

This engineer will support planning, design, and coordination for airport infrastructure projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and U.S.-based stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Support the design and development of airport infrastructure projects, including: Landside civil works (roads, parking, utilities, grading), Drainage and stormwater management, Airside support facilities (hangars, support buildings, ancillary structures), Terminal and building-related civil/structural interfaces.

Prepare engineering drawings, plans, and documentation in alignment with aviation standards.

Conduct site/civil calculations including grading, hydrology/hydraulics, and utility design.

Assist with permitting documentation and compliance with aviation and local regulations

Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and project managers to deliver integrated solutions.

Review technical drawings, validate design accuracy, and ensure quality control.

Support proposal inputs, quantity take-offs, and basic cost estimation when required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil
  • Engineering (or related field).
  • Experience working on aviation projects—landsid­­e, airside support areas, or airport buildings.
  • Knowledge of drainage design, grading, utilities, and site development.
  • Proficiency with engineering design tools (e.g., Civil 3D, AutoCAD, HydroCAD, or similar).
  • Ability to interpret and develop engineering drawings and documentation.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with U.S.-based teams.
  • English proficiency required. (B2 – C1)

Requirements:

  • Experience with FAA standards, airport design guidelines, or related regulatory frameworks.
  • Exposure to small and mid-size airport projects.
  • Experience with building-side civil interfaces (foundations, site utilities, apron transitions).
  • Familiarity with stormwater modeling or airside pavement design.
