Apertura is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with strong experience in project cost estimation, piping systems, and CAD drawing review. This role focuses on analyzing mechanical and piping designs, extracting quantities, and preparing accurate cost estimates, take-offs, and project quotations for industrial and utility facility projects.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced with AutoCAD, and comfortable converting technical drawings into reliable cost and material assessments.

Responsibilities

Review engineering designs and AutoCAD drawings to extract mechanical and piping quantities.

Prepare accurate cost estimations, quotations, and cost breakdowns for client proposals.

Develop Bills of Quantities (BoQs), material take-offs, and detailed estimate reports.

Ensure estimates follow client standards, specifications, and project requirements.

Collaborate with engineering and commercial teams to validate technical assumptions.

Maintain well-organized documentation of quotes, take-offs, and estimation files.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 7+ years of experience preparing cost estimates for industrial or mechanical projects.
- Strong understanding of piping systems, mechanical layouts, and industrial facilities.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (reading and interpreting technical drawings required).
- Demonstrated experience preparing quotes, take-offs, and BoQs.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple proposals on tight deadlines.
Preferred (Not Required):
- Experience with: 2D to 3D piping model conversion,P&ID interpretation and standardization, Chemical, industrial, or civil infrastructure facilities, Asset tagging workflows (equipment, valves, instruments), Preparing models or drawings for CAD standards compliance.
- Familiarity with software such as: AutoCAD Plant 3D, Cadworx, PIPESIM, Petrel, HOMER Energy, WindSim, Navisworks or similar tools.
